oslo scenes

We are back from Norway. We loved Oslo -- easy to understand why it was one of my dad's favorite cities. Here are some random pictures of our visit: outside our apartment at 15 Damplassan; the library at the University of Oslo (known as the "Black Pearl"); a ferry ride on the Oslo fjord; outside the RĂ¥dus (Town Hall) which was designed by Arnstein Arneberg and Magnus Poulsson (often, apparently, featured in history of architecture textbooks); a statue known as "Factory Girls."

So good to see you all having a great time...

And the girls relating to the various sculptures in the landscapes. They'll certainly have a lot to tell their friends when they get home!

I bet the "Black Pearl" is an architectural wonder.

Enjoyed the pictures. One picture Anna is missing
did she take the picture?

Did you buy Norweigian sweters while you
were in Oslo?

The picture without Anna was taken with the self timer ... not sure where Anna was at the time. We didn't get any sweaters for the girls. I still wear the one I got 12 years ago all the time but we didn't want to spend too much money on a sweater that they would only outgrow. The only "souvenirs" we have gotten so far are some Danish rain jackets for the girls.

By the way, Jan, have you noticed how much your birthday gifts feature in the photos? Anna wears her crocs almost daily. Leah wears her jacket all the time. And the backpacks go with us everywhere we go.

Well I think "attitude" and those red crocs really "make" the "Factory Girls" photo... bring the statement right into the 21st century!

Thanks Margaret.
