grocery shopping

There are several grocery stores within just a couple blocks of our building. We seem to go to the store on an 'as needed' basis which is just about everyday. Here are some observations we have made about the stores:
  • some of the handcarts have wheels on them
  • eggs are sold in cartons of ten
  • they sell a salad dressing called 'Rhode Island dressing' (not to be confused with Thousand Island dressing which they also sell)
  • the wide variety of crisp breads and flat breads take up about half an aisle
  • two words: Turkish yogurt (yum! tastes like whipped cream and probably has just as much fat)
  • you have to pay for your shopping bags so it pays to bring your own
  • produce comes from places like South Africa, Egypt and Belgium

Don't forget you can click on the image to get a larger, more detailed look.

that little click makes a big difference. Keith looks happiest on the seat of a two-wheeler. Reminds me his days whizzing around Brundalen on one.

This pictures make a great travelog, and the kids excitement shows. Looking forward to the next installment of the Goodmans invading a well-known nordic enclave.

Thanks for the reminder Margaret! Bill's right...that little click DOES make a big difference. I went back and looked at all the photos again and saw so much more this time.

I'm curious about the Turkish yogurt...is it made from goat's or cow's milk.

Anna you look older than your age. You are
so beautiful. Where is Leah?

If you have imported produce from other
countries it must be expensive. We have
imported fruits from South America too.

I guess you are not very busy if you shop
every day. You are vacationing!!!

Rhode Island dressing sounds just as appetizing as Vermont curry.

Update on the Turkish yogurt: it appears to be made from cow's milk. We've discovered one with 3.5% milk fat.
